CLASS BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS

We will follow all the rules of the school Student Handbook, and respect for other students and the teacher is expected at ALL TIMES. In addition to reinforcing the school rules in this classroom, we will also follow other guidelines that will help us create and maintain a healthy and pleasant environment:

Have respect and kindness for yourself, your peers, and your teacher at all times.
There will be NO tolerance for any kind of verbal or physical aggression towards any member of our classroom. Everyone deserves to be respected regardless of linguistic, ethnic, racial, and/or socioeconomic background. Any sign of bullying will be reported to the school administration.

Be on time.
Spanish class will start immediately after the bell rings. If you are late, you might miss valuable information or directions given at the beginning of class. Your tardiness might be disruptive to your peers.

¡Por Favor!

NO FOOD

OTHER EXPECTATIONS

Come prepared for class.
Every student should always come to class with the appropriate materials including textbook, notebook, pen/pencil, and completed homework.

HOMEWORK POLICY: please check designated haiku website for details.

Use Spanish
This classroom opens the door to speak a foreign language and learn about the cultures and traditions of people who live in countries where Spanish is spoken. Every time our class meets, we will use our knowledge of the Spanish language to communicate with each other and learn new ways to incorporate the use new words and phrases into our everyday life.

ASSESSMENT
Grading is based on a point system. The main areas of assessment include quizzes, tests, homework, classwork and participation. Assessment methods are subject to change as learning needs are determined throughout each unit.
